도시의 회색빛 틈새에서 잊힌 초록의 기억을 되살리는 한준호의 작업은 자연을 향한 회복의 주문이자 깊은 치유의 언어입니다. 작가는 오일파스텔로 칠한 캔버스를 블랙 락카로 덮은 뒤, 뾰족한 칼끝으로 수만 번 긁어내는 독창적인 스크래치 기법을 구사합니다. 이는 색을 ‘입히는’ 것이 아니라 어둠 속에서 빛을 ‘찾아내는’ 과정으로, 덜어냄의 미학을 통한 충만의 실천이자 고요한 시간의 수행입니다. ‘New Beginning’, ‘Querencia’, ‘모든 것은 하나로 연결되어 있다’ 등의 연작을 통해 그가 선보이는 숲은 인간이 떠난 자리에서 비로소 살아 움직이는 본연의 자화상입니다. 디자인의 이성과 회화의 감성이 교차하는 그의 화면은 단절된 현대 사회에서 자연과 인간, 존재와 존재가 하나의 빛으로 연결되어 있음을 증명합니다. 칼끝으로 긁어낸 빛의 결 위에서, 관객은 복잡한 일상을 내려놓고 내면의 숲을 거니는 호흡과 쉼표를 마주하게 됩니다. Text by YoonSub Kim (Ph.D. in Art History, Chairman of AIF Children Foundation) JunHo Han’s artistic practice revives forgotten memories of green within the gray crevices of the city, serving as an incantation of restoration and a language of deep healing. Utilizing a distinctive scratch technique—covering an oil pastel canvas with black lacquer and carving out forms with a sharp blade through tens of thousands of strokes—the artist does not simply "apply" color, but rather "discovers" light from within the darkness. This process of subtraction embodies the aesthetics of fullness and operates as a meditative performance of tranquil time. Through his series such as New Beginning, Querencia, and Everything is Connected, Han presents forests that emerge as authentic self-portraits of nature, coming alive precisely where human artifice recedes. Intersecting the rationality of design with the sensibility of painting, his canvases demonstrate that nature and humanity, and all forms of existence, are interconnected by a singular light in an era of disconnection. Upon the textured layers of light carved by the blade, viewers are invited to set aside the complexities of daily life, drawing a quiet breath and finding a sanctuary within their inner forest.
